SomerPure began with a simple idea: to develop a straightforward Natural Laundry System using carefully selected ingredients and a practical, small-batch approach. One of the most important parts of that journey has been developing our own coconut oil soap, which will form the basis of our Natural Laundry Flakes.
Staring with Pure Coconut Oil
We chose pure coconut oil as the starting point for developing our laundry soap. By carefully making the soap ourselves in small trial batches, we can observe each stage of the process and assess how the finished soap performs before it is prepared as laundry flakes.
From Soap to Laundry Flakes
Once each trial batch has been made, the soap is allowed time to harden and develop before we assess it for the next stage. We look at its consistency, condition and suitability for processing into the flakes that will eventually form part of the SomerPure Natural Laundry System.
This small-batch approach allows us to learn from each trial and make careful adjustments where necessary rather than rushing towards a finished product.
Testing in real washing conditions
Making the flakes is only part of the development process. We are also carrying out practical washing trials to see how our Natural Laundry Flakes perform in everyday washing conditions.
We assess factors such as how well the flakes disperse during the wash, the condition of the laundry afterwards and whether there is any unwanted residue. The results from each trial help guide the next stage of development.
Developing the complete Laundry System
Our Natural Laundry Flakes are being developed alongside SomerPure Fabric Rinse as two complementary parts of our Natural Laundry System. Both remain in the development and trial stage while we continue to evaluate their formulation, dosing, practical use and presentation.
There is still work ahead, and we believe it is important to take the time to get it right. We will continue sharing our progress as SomerPure moves through each stage of development.
